The cooperative movement at the service of social medicine
The preparatory meetings took place between May 26 and June 8, prior to the general assembly on June 13.
During the spring, SCIAS held its preparatory assemblies, one of the cooperative's main arenas for participation and governance. Between May 26 and June 8, meetings were held for the different sectors and branches, encompassing both consumer and worker members.
These sessions make it possible to elect the delegates who will later participate in the SCIAS general assembly—which took place this year on June 13—as well as to debate proposals and gather suggestions and initiatives related to the activity and future of the cooperative.
As a benchmark in healthcare cooperativism, SCIAS thus maintains its commitment to a participatory model in which members play an active role in decision-making and in defining the organization's strategic guidelines. The assemblies also represent an opportunity to strengthen engagement with the cooperative project and share reflections on the organization's challenges and goals.
The Directorate General of Insurance and Pension Funds (DGSFP) has officially authorized ASISA to operate in the home insurance branch. With this major regulatory milestone, the company will begin marketing specific products designed for home protection in the coming months.
Dr. José Carlos Sánchez Marcos, counselor of Lavinia and delegate of ASISA in Ávila, participated in the Catholic University of Ávila (UCAV) as part of the VII University Week of Social Economy 2026. During his intervention, he highlighted the value of the cooperative model in guaranteeing the quality and accessibility of the healthcare system.
