HLA Mediterráneo and HLA La Vega, recognised in the TOP 20

The HLA Mediterráneo hospital in Almería and the HLA La Vega hospital have been recognised in the 26th edition of the TOP 20 Hospitals, organised by IQVIA. While the Almería centre has retained its awards in “Global Hospital Management” and “Women's Health”, the Murcia hospital has won for the first time in the Musculoskeletal category.

For the second consecutive year, the HLA Mediterráneo Hospital in Almería has received the award for best “Global Hospital Management” in the medium-sized hospitals category and the “Women's Health” award in the 26th edition of the TOP 20 Hospitals organised by IQVIA. For its part, the HLA La Vega hospital has been recognised as the winner in the Musculoskeletal category thanks to the specialists, protocols and results of its Traumatology and Orthopaedic Surgery Unit.

Healthcare quality and efficiency indicators

The TOP 20 awards are a benchmark in the Spanish healthcare sector and are based on a programme in which nearly 200 public and private hospitals participate, obtaining a benchmark or reference point with respect to organisations with similar characteristics. The aim of this programme is to improve results based on quality, performance and efficiency indicators, as well as to recognise good practices in the sector.

The HLA Mediterráneo hospital in Almería was recognised for the first time in 2024 with two TOP 20 awards, which it has retained this year: best “Overall Hospital Management” within the group of medium-sized private hospitals and in the “Women's Area”, specifically in the Obstetrics category.

Leadership in traumatology and personalised care

For HLA La Vega, this is the first year it has received this recognition, which highlights the comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach of the Traumatology and Orthopaedic Surgery Unit, with highly qualified specialists and a structure that allows it to offer personalised care.

Dr Joaquín Carreño, corporate medical director of the HLA Group, emphasised that ‘it is a source of satisfaction for our Hospital Group that our centres stand out nationally for their commitment to the continuous improvement of their healthcare results’.
