HLA Universitario Moncloa positions itself at the forefront of medical imaging with a new MRI scanner
The new MRI scanner includes artificial intelligence tools that enable more reliable diagnostic imaging, allowing for more precise examinations.
The HLA Universitario Moncloa Hospital has enhanced its Radiology Department with the installation of a 1.5 Tesla MRI scanner, the Ingenia Evolution by Philips, which integrates AI-based technology and the advanced Smart Workflow Premium software. This new equipment enables faster, more precise scans, improving both diagnostic confidence and patient comfort thanks to an ergonomic and modernized environment.
Dr. Javier García Prado, Head of Radiology, emphasizes the improvement in workflow—from study planning to image acquisition and reconstruction. A wider bore, viscoelastic tabletop, and redesigned room make for a more comfortable experience for patients.
Advanced technology for safer, faster, more accurate diagnostics
This system supports complex functional studies such as brain spectroscopy, tractography, and perfusion with superior image quality. It complements the hospital's existing 3T MRI for specialized imaging and a 160-slice CT scanner for cardiac and vascular assessments, especially in emergency settings.
Thanks to the Smart Workflow Premium platform and SmartSpeed AI, the scanner automates procedures, reduces scan time, and produces reproducible high-resolution images, even in challenging anatomical regions like the brain, musculoskeletal system, and breast—ensuring non-invasive and reliable diagnoses.
